Principal of Curriculum and Instruction - Detroit Campus

Greetings David Ellis Academy Families,

It is my pleasure to introduce myself to you as the Principal of Curriculum and Instruction for the Detroit Campus of David Ellis Academy. I have been with the Academy for 17 years and have served in various roles from classroom teacher to leadership. It has been my absolute pleasure to be a part of this school.

I firmly believe that optimum elementary school education is the primary building block to students’ long-term academic success. Therefore, we maintain high academic expectations for students and provide supports to help students reach success. The curriculum materials we have chosen are research-based and challenges students to be critical thinkers. With teacher support, students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process. I hold high expectations for teacher performance and am passionate about working collectively with teachers and other leaders in the building to ensure that our students are prepared to be leaders of tomorrow.
